Brazilian nonwovens producer Companhia Providencia has finalized Statesville, NC as the location of its U.S. nonwovens operation. Providencia announced last month it would build a two-line nonwovens operation in the southeast U.S. to position itself closer to its North American customer base. According to recent reports, the 215,000-square-foot facility will be built on a 43-acre lot. The two production lines, with a combined capacity of 40,000 tons, will begin operation in February 2009.
