Japanese Company Makes Lighter Weight Thermal Bond

Rengo Nonwovens, a Japanese producer of thermal bonded nonwovens has developed a lightweight nonwoven that weights 12 grams per square meter. According to reports, the use of a thinner fiber allowed Rengo to significantly reduce the weight of this product—thermal bonded nonwovens used in diapers typically weight 20 gpsm. The company plans to begin producing the material in September.
