Toray Establishes Chinese Company

Toray Saehan has established a joint company, TPN, to begin producing polypropylene spunbond nonwovens in China. Fifty percent of the new company is owned by TSI, 40% by Toray and 10% by Toray China. The new plant will begin making nonwovens, with an initial capacity of 18,000 tons, in February 2008. Based in Korea, TSI is a joint venture of Toray Industries and Saehan Industries. It produces 49,000 tons of spunbonded nonwovens.
