San-Dia Polymers’ superabsorbent polymer plant in China, which began production last spring, has been so successful the Japanese company plans to expand its presence there. The existing 20,000 tons capacity will be enhanced with an additional 30,000 tons by the end of 2006. Executives said the increase is necessary to meet the rising demand for superabsorbent polymers in the region.
