Cellulose continuous filament spunbond nonwoven material uses 100% upcycled cotton linter and is fully biodegradable

At the World of Wipes conference, Asahi Kasei will present Bemliese, a cellulose continuous filament spunbond nonwoven material that uses 100% upcycled cotton linter and is fully biodegradable. The continuous filament structure, with no staple fibers, sets Bemliese apart from other materials, according to the company. The cotton linter delivers extraordinarily high liquid absorption, retention, purity, and is nearly lint-free. Bemliese is available in a wide range of patterns and filament diameters to allow for customization.

Wipes made from Bemliese feature excellent absorbency, extractability, purity, low lint and they are binder-free and 100% biodegradable. Applications include wipes for medical, health and beauty, sensitive skin, etc. in weights ranging from 13.5-135 gsm.
