Company shows exhibiting cutting technology for nonwovens webs used in hygiene products

Sandvik Hyperion is exhibiting cutting technology for nonwovens webs that used in baby diapers, feminine products, adult diapers and other hygienic products. The company also advocates complete solutions by incorporating upper rollers (cutter) and bottom roller (anvil) in a frame. As they find customers are more demanding on efficiency and productivity, they are not satisfied with machines that are low speed at quite reasonable price anymore, considering the rising labor cost, the speed is the key for manufacturers to make money.

“Our cutting solution runs at very fast speed, i.e., 500m/min for baby diapers and feminine napkins, nearly 300m/min faster than competing machines," says Motoki Sugiura, rottary cutter product application manager. "We work very hard to understand customers’ needs, and make sure everything we designed and made for them performs as desired.”

By incorporating sensors in the IQUT unit which is under development, customer can check the temperature, speed and other data of the cutter, the number have cut, and record all the historical data.

Another new technology under development is A-FLEX. It is designed to change the anvil on the line, and therefore reduce downtime of the machine about 8%.

Today, more and more OEMs are Sandvik Hyperion’s targeted customers, as they are growing in the market, and become affordable to use cutting solutions from Sandvik Hyperion.
