Thrace Group has released more details on the meltblown line planned for its Don & Low company in Scotland. The multi-million dollar investment was first announced in January. In June, Don & Low will start production and supply of meltblown nonwovens from the new line, which is under construction in Forfar, Scotland. The line features the latest Oerlikon Neumag technology, brings further expansion of Don & Low’s product range and adds the ability to offer benefits to new markets and applications by the introduction of innovative materials.
With this important meltblown investment, Don & Low will develop new products in collaboration with its customers across all markets and will continue to focus on newer markets in filtration, automotives, medical and advanced composites.
The line has a web width of 160 cm and uses a range of polymers including polypropylene, polyethylene and thermoplastic polyurethane. With additional features including online air permeability, electrostatic charge capability, gap control calender and multi-width slitting, it will produce meltblown and composites to exact customer requirements.
