Duni’s net sales amounted to $143.7 million (SEK 1.2 billion) in the fourth quarter of 2014. Adjusted for exchange rate changes, net sales increased by 5.8%. For the full year, net sales increased to $504.2 million (SEK 4.2 billion). Adjusted for exchange rate changes, net sales increased by 7.5% in 2014. Organic growth in the core business, currency-adjusted net sales (excluding acquisitions and hygiene product operations) increased by 3.9%.
While sales were up for the year, Thomas Gustafsson, president and CEO of Duni, says the fourth quarter began weaker in sales, but ended with growth similar to previous quarters.
The company is continuing the phase out plan within its Materials & Services segment. Duni will no longer manufacture hygiene products after the first quarter of this year, and production at the company’s Dals Långed plant will be transferred to Skåpafors. In this business area, sales in the quarter fell to $10.3 million (SEK 87 million), while operating income increased to $711,993 (SEK 6 million).
