Unitika is expected to increase capacity of its polyester spunbond nonwovens facility in Thailand. The company has been making 4500 tons of the material in Thailand per year and has recently purchased additional land for a second plant in the country. The second factory, which will llikely be operational in 2015-2016 will make 10,000 tons of nonwovens per year at a maxiumum, according to Nonwovens Industry Far East correspondent Kin Ohmura. The expansion will not only meet demand for the materails in Southeast Asia but will also reinforce Unitkak's export business to China and the U.S.
