K-C to close diaper plant in Spain

March 25, 2013

Buyer not found for Calatayud site.

Kimberly-Clark has announced it will close its diaper production plant in Calatayud, Spain. The move follows the company’s announcement in October 2012 that it would exit much of the disposable baby diaper market in Europe. While K-C originally said it would find a buyer for the site, failutre to find a buyer led to the decision to close the site, a plan already in place for its plants in the U.K.

The mill employs more than 200 employees.
