RoboVent, a U.S. supplier of ventilation and filtration equipment, has acquired Bisco Systems, a 19-year-old Indianapolis area business. The acquisition marks the latest move from this Michigan-based corporation to extend its reach to key manufacturing centers of North America. Establishing a local presence in Indiana is the latest move in RoboVent’s national expansion. A number of locations were under consideration but as John Reid, president of RoboVent Products Group says, “We serve manufacturers across the country, but right now we’re seeing growth and opportunity in the Indiana – Illinois region. Indianapolis is a great place for RoboVent to be because we already serve the automotive and heavy equipment industries so it leverages our strengths.”
In addition to serving the long-established giants in automotive and transportation, RoboVent says it has uncovered opportunities in some of the other major industries in this part of the Midwest including recreational vehicle manufacturing, agricultural equipment, food processing and pharmaceuticals.
Charlie Schmidt, business unit team leader in the Indianapolis office cites two primary reasons for RoboVent’s acquisition of Bisco. “There was a good fit between our companies as far as the product lines," he says. "The companies are compatible. And now we have more engineering and project management support so we can offer our customers even better service.”
RoboVent’s services include design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and maintenance. Numerous Fortune 1,000 companies are among their customer base.
