Description
A non-compliant medical balloon comprising: a base balloon formed from a substantially inelastic oriented polymer; a non-woven fabric layer comprising a plurality of substantially inelastic first fibers, the first fibers comprising randomly oriented fibers defining random angles at a plurality of locations where the first fibers intersect and cross over each other; a second, substantially inelastic fiber discrete from the fabric layer; an adhesive for attaching the fabric layer to the balloon; and an outer polymeric coating; wherein the random angles between the first fibers are fixed in position relative to the base balloon such that the angles of intersection between the first fibers remains constant when the balloon is inflated and deflated, and the first fibers are joined with a polymeric solution.
