Basell Has Appointed A President And Sr. Vice President

Basell has appointed Michael Mulrooney president of Basell Poly­olefins North America and Hans-Robert Schmidt as senior vice president, sales, marketing and monomer for North America. In his new role, Mr. Mulrooney is responsible for Basell’s polypropylene operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He has succeeded Randy Woelfel, who is now an advisor to Basell’s management board. Prior to this assignment, he was a senior vice president in Basell’s technology division and was based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Mr. Schmidt is succeeding Don Drummond, who will retire as senior vice president, sales and marketing, North America on January 1. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Schmidt was senior vice president, Polyolefin Products, Basell Polyolefins Europe and was based in Wesseling, Germany.
