Anthony Palmer will join Kimberly-Clark Corporation as chief marketing officer, reporting to chairman and CEO Thomas Falk. In this newly created position, Mr. Palmer will be responsible for leading the development of a global, enterprise-wide focus on marketing to accelerate the company's progress in generating insights that drive all aspects of its business. In addition, he will establish a long-term marketing investment strategy to ensure that business initiatives are backed by compelling, high-return marketing programs.
A seasoned business leader with global marketing and management experience at some of the world's top consumer packaged goods companies, Mr. Palmer was most recently managing director U.K. for Kellogg Company. Previously, he served as president of the company's natural, frozen and warehouse club businesses.
Suominen Corporation, Tampere, Finland, plans to improve its operational efficiency and faster exploit its synergies through more cohesive central steering of product development and process efficiency. Effective October 2006, responsibilities for developing these processes on a group level were reorganized.
Innovation and product development will be handled by vice president Petri Rolig, who will become general manager of the flexible packaging business area. Vice president Pekka Rautala will focus on operational efficiency as the new general manager of the wet wipes business unit and vice president Sakari Santa-Paavola will be responsible for purchasing and logistics as general manager of the nonwovens business unit. Juha Henttonen, current vice president and general manager of flexible packaging, will assume responsibility for coordination and controlling of the group's development and efficiency programs.
Suominen's executive team will comprise: Kalle Tanhuanpää, president and CEO, Petri Rolig, vice president and general manager, Pekka Rautala, vice president and general manager, Sakari Santa-Paavola, vice president and general manager, and Arto Kiiskinen, vice president and CFO.
Keith Hayward is now managing director of Monadnock Non-Wovens LLC, which is part of Bennington, NH-based Monadnock Paper Mills. Mr. Hayward has 15 years of experience in the global nonwovens/filtration industry. He reports to Richard Verney, chairman and CEO. Monadnock manufactures meltblown synthetic roll goods for the homeland security, vacuum bag, appliance, filtration, healthcare and biotech industries.
Clopay Plastic Products has named Vance Greene director of operations for Clopay Europe. Mr. Greene will support Clopay's Finotech Verbundstoffe GmbH & Co. KG, Böhme Clopay GmbH Verpackungsfolien and APA Advanced Printing Aschersleben GmbH operations. Mr. Greene brings more than 13 years of manufacturing experience to the position. Most recently he served as printing plant manager of Clopay's North American printing operation. Known for its expertise in breathable films and composites, elastomerics, polyolefin resin and filler technology, Clopay Europe's products are used in the hygiene, healthcare, packaging and building and construction markets.
