The R 40 rotor spinning machine, featuring up to 360 rotors operating at 150,000 rpm, has been updated by Rieter. In the future the robots will be equipped with new piecing technology. With fewer setting parameters than before, virtually invisible piecings featuring high tenacity can be produced with high repeatability. The R 40 can now produce packages up to 350 mm in diameter (i.e. weighing up to 6 kg) at a maximum delivery speed of 310 m/min. At the same time the SC-R spinning box with AERObearing offers spinning stability and high yarn quality. The very slim design of the R 40 and its robots results in the highest productivity relative to floor space. The high-speed robots on the R 40 are now being equipped with the innovative VARIOclean rotor cleaning system and the new piecing system. VARIOclean combines reliable and wear-free rotor cleaning featuring a targeted air jet with the option of mechanical cleaning of the rotor groove. The robots control rotor speed, feed and take-off as well as all processes in the piecing cycle precisely and with repeatable accuracy. Telephone: 33-476-522311; Web: www.rieter.com
