At INDEX, the RKW-Group will present its new RKW ProLife brand, one of the five new divisional brands which the company introduced at the start of 2008.
RKW ProLife symbolizes all of the products and services relating to hygiene and medical applications. Customers benefit from the expertise and experience in the development and manufacturing of components for diapers, feminine hygiene products, personal care and industrial wipes, incontinence products, wound care, films and nonwovens used in the operating room.
Also on display at RKW’s booth will be its HyJet nonwovens, a new range of hydrotentangled spunbond nonwovens made at the group’s Halberstadt and Gronau sites. These materials can be laminated to different types of film to create innovative solutions. In contrast to thermal bonding, which reinforces and bonds the fibers together using heat, this method operates with jets of water that join the continuous fibers together using high pressure. This results in very soft, tear-resistant nonwoven which can be dyed any color and can be statically charged. As they are more voluminous than conventional nonwovens at the same grammage, they are particularly suitable for producing disposable towels or pads (wipes) that are used in personal care and in baby care, but also for industrial applications.
