Central to Cotton Incorporated’s INDEX booth will be a message about the sustainability of cotton. One of the world’s oldest and most plentiful, natural fibers is one of the nonwovens industry’s newest. It is soft, natural and annually renewable. In its virgin state, cotton is hydrophobic; after washing or scouring, it is hydrophillic. At the end of its life, this fiber biodegrades. At INDEX, Cotton Incorporated plans to share information about the unique qualities cotton can bring to nonwovens as well as the application of technology and best practices.
