Absorbent Article Comprising a Liquid Permeable Material Layer

October 18, 2011

An absorbent article comprising liquid-permeable and a liquid impermeable surface layers surrounding an absorption body has been patented. The absorption body contains an liquid permeable layer and an absorptive structure wit the hability to expand upon wetting. Wherein the liquid permeable material layer constitutes a volume limiting device for the absorbent structure so the absorbent structure is prevented from reaching the completely expanded wet condition on wetting in excess of 0.9% NaCL solution for five minutes. Instead, the structure has a greater stiffness then when dry, forming a forming element in the absorbent article wherein the absorbent structure expands to a value of 70% or less of the completely expanded wet condition on wetting in excess of 0.9% NaCl solution for five minutes.
