An absorbent article recently received a patent. The article is comprised of a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet and a liquid retentive absorbent core interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, a sheet-like member, which is provided at a side edge portion thereof with an elastic member , and which is fixed to the backsheet side at an edge portion excluding the side edge portion where the elastic member is disposed. The absorbent article is deformed such that a concavity is formed on the topsheet side, the absorbent article being put on a wearer while maintaining such a deformed configuration by the sheet-like member.
