September 1, 2009

An open-type disposable wearing article has been patented. The article is composed of a front waist region, a rear waist region and a crotch region extending between these waist regions. Tape fasteners used to connect the front and rear waist to each other are attached to side flaps in the rear waist region and each of the side flaps has a first zone adapted to cover a surface facing a wearers body of the fixed end portion of the associated tape fastener and a second zone defined by the side flap, except for the first zone and where the first zone has a basis weight higher than that of the second zone.
