An absorbent covering with high damping power was recently patented. The covering is secured to a structure and includes an absorbent layer. The absorbent layer comprises an elastic material and a dissipater mesh is arranged in the elastic material. The dissipater mesh comprises a plurality of dissipater elements and a plurality of nodes connecting to respective dissipater elements. The dissipater elements each has a shape of an ellipse.
