A flame retardant crosslinkable composition was patented. It comprises 35 to 75 weight percent, based on the weight of the composition, ethylene-silane copolymer having 0.1 to 20 weight percent silane comonomer of a formula where R is a C1-4 alkyl group incorporated by copolymerization or grafting. It also includes 5 to 50 weight percent, based on the weight of the composition, ethylene-C3-8 ·-olefin plastomer having a density less than 0.92 g/cm3. It also has 12 to 40 weight percent, based on the weight of the composition, hydrated inorganic filler.
