An absorbent-entrained polymeric structure with an outer layer and an interior region has been granted a patent. The structure comprises a thermoplastic material and at least one absorbent. The absorbent is entirely entrained within the thermoplastic material. The structure has a greater concentration of absorbent in the outer layer of the polymeric structure than in the interior region. The thermoplastic material is selected from the group consisting of a copolymer containing at least two of the same monomers and a mixture of at least two polymers from single monomers. Each polymer contains the same monomer and a mixture of at least two copolymers. Each copolymer has a common monomer, a mixture of at least one polymer from a single monomer and at least one copolymer. The polymer and the copolymer have a common monomer and combinations thereof.
