Patented is a barrier film for separating liquid and air. It comprises a liquid crystalline polymer layer with a glass transition temperature in the range from 80°C. to about 115°C. The film has a thickness of less than about 15 microns, a heat-sealable layer and an adhesive layer interposed between the liquid crystalline polymer layer and the heat sealable layer, forming the barrier film.
