Patented is a flame retardant fabric comprising bicomponent fibers with a sheath and core. The sheath is made of a liquid crystalline polyester polymer with an LOI of at least 26 and a melting point (Tm) between about 200-265° C. The core comprises poly(ethylene terephthalate).
