Patented is a personal care product with a liquid impermeable backsheet, a liquid permeable topsheet and an absorbent composite located between the two. The article has an upper layer made of synthetic fibers with at most 20% pulp fiber, a density of about 0.03-0.15 g/cc and a basis weight of about 20-75 gpsm. The article has a lower layer with 80-95% pulp, at most 20% binder, a density greater than the upper layer, between 0.06 and 0.20 g/cc and a basis weight of 120-200 gpsm.
