Method For Improving Skin Condition

March 16, 2004

A method for improving skin condition of a wearer by covering it with a treated absorbent article has been patented. This is achieved by having the wearer apply an unused absorbent article treated with a skin care composition that improves skin smoothness upon transfer to the skin of the wearer. The skin care composition is transferred to the wearer from the unused, treated article during wear whereby the unused, treated article is transformed to a used, treated article. When removing the used, treated article from the wearer the process is repeated six or more additional times for at least a 24 hour period. At least 0.03 mg/in2 (0.0047 mg/cm2) is transferred to the wearer’s skin during a 24 hour period to improve the skin condition of the area of a wearer covered by the treated absorbent articles. This process should achieve smoother skin as measured by image analysis of skin casts and reduce squamous cell release in a D-Squame tape analysis.
