Disposable Absorbent Article Having Hydrophobic Topsheet and Improved Liquid Handling Performance
A disposable absorbent article has been patented with a transverse centerline, a first region, and a second region and a front region and a ear region. The front region has been positioned forward of the transverse centerline. The front region comes into contact with the front waist of the wearer during use, and theback region is positioned backward of the transverse centerlin. The back region touches the back waist of the wearer during use. The disposable absorbent article has a liquid pervious, fibrous, structured carrier and a liquid impervious backsheet that is at least partially peripherally joined to said structured carrier. A liquid storage structure is positioned next to the structured carrier and the backsheet, and a liquid handling structure is positioned next to the structured carrier and the liquid storage structure. A portion of the liquid handling structure is positioned in the first region, and a portion of the liquid handling structure is positioned in the second region. The structured carrier has a liquid retention of less than 150 mg for a test liquid having a surface tension of 33 mN/m, and the liquid handling structure has a basis weight to uncompressed caliper ratio of less than 100 grams per square meter per millimeter.
