The article also features a longitudinal centerline, a lateral centerline, a pair of longitudinal edges and a pair of end edges. The absorbent article also has a topsheet; a backsheet joined with the topsheet; an absorbent core between at least a portion of the topsheet and the backsheet; an acceptance element having an effective open area of 30% and an Acceptance Under Pressure value of greater than 0.70 grams of a viscous fluid bodily waste per square inch of the acceptance element per milliJoule of energy input. Also part of the article is a storage element between a portion of the acceptance element and the backsheet. The storage element has a compressive resistance of 70% and a Storage Under Pressure value of greater than about 0.70 grams of the viscous fluid bodily waste per square inch of the storage element. The storage element is made of a fibrous looped material and a macroporous compressible member including a macroporous polyurethane/polyester reticulated foam member. The acroporous compressible member is between a portion of the acceptance element and a portion of the fibrous looped material.
