Shape-stable Absorbent Article

Patented is an absorbent article with a longitudinal and a transverse direction. The article has two side edges extending in the longitudinal direction and two end edges extending in the transverse direction. The article contains a liquid-permeable cover layer and a liquid-impermeable cover layer surrounding an absorption body. One elastic member is arranged with prestressing in the article's crotch area, extending in the transverse direction between the side edges. The elastic member is arranged between the liquid-permeable cover layer and the absorption body on a first surface of the absorption body and a shaping element, which is rigid to bending in the article's transverse direction is arranged between the side edges on a second surface of the absorption body.
