A disposable absorbent article arranged to be worn by a wearer to trap and collect waste has been patented. The article comprises a front, intermediate and a rear section. The front section consists of a single, flexible planar panel with a top and bottom edge, a first side edge and an opposed second side edge. The front sections’ bottom edge of is an arcuate concave shape with a first and a second concave shaped end portion. The first concave shaped end portion is merged with the first side edge of the front section, while the second concave shaped end portion is merged with the second side edge. he rear section is formed of a single, flexible planar panel with a top and a bottom edge, a first side edge and an opposed second side edge. The bottom edge of the rear section is an arcuate convex shape with a first and a second convex shaped end portion. The first and second convex shaped end portions are merged with the rear sections’ first and second side edge, respectively. The bottom edge of the front section and the rear section are complementary in shape to each other.
The intermediate section is an elongated member featuring a flexible material with a first and a second side edge and a pair of end edges. One part of the intermediate section is adjacent to one of the pairs of end edges and is fixedly secured to the front section, and intermediate first and second side edges. A second part of the intermediate section is adjacent to the other pair of end edges and is fixedly secured to the rear section intermediate the rear sections’ first and second side edges. The front section’s first side edge is arranged to be releasably secured to the rear section’s first side edge and the second side edge is arranged to be releasably secured to the rear section’s second side edge to mount the disposable absorbent article onto the wearer and form first and second leg openings.
The first leg opening defines a high cut at the front section and comprises the bottom edge’s first concave shaped end, an adjacent portion of the first side edge of the intermediate section and the first convex shaped end portion of the rear section’s bottom edge. The second leg opening defines a high cut at the front section comprising the second concave shaped end portion of the bottom edge of the front section, an adjacent portion of the second side edge of the intermediate section and the second convex shaped end portion of the bottom edge of the rear section. The intermediate section is elasticized adjacent to the first and second side edges to conform to the crotch of the wearer. The intermediate section is arranged to absorb and trap waste material.
