Composite Sheet

January 14, 2003

A composite sheet comprising a nonwoven fabric has been patented. Several fine, flexible and continuous filaments extend parallel to one another in a first direction and are spaced apart in the second and the first direction. The nonwoven fabric and the continuous filaments are formed with recoverable crepes extending in the second direction and are continuously arranged in the first direction so that the fabric and the filaments contract with one another in the first direction at a ratio of the sheet’s unit length measured in the first direction prior to the crepes’ formation in the fabric and the filaments. The composite sheet also has an elastic stretchability in the first direction.
