A body fluid absorbent garment, contoured by transversely opposite and longitudinally extending side edges, has been patented. The garment features longitudinally opposite and transversely extending ends and a basic structure with a liquid-pervious topsheet and a liquid-impervious backsheet that surround a liquid-absorbent core. The core comprises a lower core member and two separate upper core members are placed on the lower core member. The upper core members are spaced from each other and extend along the respective transversely opposite side edges of the garment. Each of the upper core members has a density lower than the lower core member. The core is thicker in regions where both the lower core and one of the upper core members are present, than in a region where only the lower core is present.
