Description:
Patented is a sanitary napkin comprising a liquid-impermeable backsheet bonded to a liquid-permeable topsheet with a liquid-absorbent core disposed between them. The napkin features transversely opposite side edges which are folded back onto the topsheet. The napkin also contains a flap with an adhesive layer on part of its lower surface and a release strip with a first and second surface. The first surface has a release coating and faces the adhesive layer to create a resealable adhesive bond between the first surface and the flap. The second surface has a layer of cohesive material and a bridging strip with an outer and inner surface. The inner surface faces the second surface and the cohesive material creates a bond between the strip and the release strips.
