Omnova Solutions will showcase an expanded portfolio of polymer-based solutions for nonwovens at IDEA 16. The company recently expanded availability of its polymers for nonwovens bonding and finishing treatments in key markets to better serve its global customer base.
“As the nonwovens industry continues to optimize product performance and manufacturing processes, Omnova is globally expanding availability of its binders and surface treatments to enable a greater range of nonwovens characteristics for more markets,” says Tom Hartle, general manager, specialty coatings and ingredients at Omnova Solutions. “Our specialty polymer solutions help nonwovens producers achieve their aggressive performance targets."
Omnova's portfolio of binders and surface treatments for nonwovens, including Genflo, Sunbond, Sequapel and Omnapel polymers, enable a range of functional and aesthetic nonwovens properties for high-performance applications in global automotive, hygiene, filtration and building material markets.
In addition to globally expanding its offerings, Omnova has developed new technology aimed at improving performance and reducing costs. “The recent launch of Softwick NW10 hydrophilic finishing treatment in North America showcases the ability of polymers to transform nonwovens,” says Pablo Leon Escobar, global marketing director for nonwovens at Omnova. “This new finishing treatment gives softness and hydrophilic properties to nonwoven materials in a single treatment and can greatly enhance performance in disposable hygiene products and medical gowns.”
To support customers with its expanded availability of polymers for nonwovens, Omnova has a robust global manufacturing and technology network that includes facilities in six countries and technical centers on three continents.
Omnova Solutions will exhibit at IDEA 16, Booth No. 2033.
