WASH United, Simavi, World Vision and GIZ are launching a webinar series on menstrual hygiene as an activity under the MH Alliance. The webinars began airling on May 31 and will be held every Thursday following. The topic of each webinar will be introduced by an expert such as Marni Sommer (Columbia University) and Chris Bobel (The Society for Menstrual Cycle Research) and followed by presentations from organisations working in Asia and Africa.
The overall objective of the webinars is to document and promote learning and connection between menstrual hygiene practitioners and interested professionals from different sectors, with a specific aim to refine and advance the global menstrual health agenda. More specifically, the organizers hope to build a global menstrual health movement; create a community of practice on menstrual health, provide a platform for sharing and learning of menstrual health and give NGOs in the global south a platform to share and learn.
