Big box retailer Sam’s Club has recalled its Simply Right baby wipes after some of the packages were found to have B. Cepacia bacteria, which could make children with chronic health problems or weakened immune systems more susceptible to infections.
"The safety of our members and their families is a priority at Sam’s Club. As soon as we learned that a limited number of Simply Right baby wipes did not meet our quality standards, we voluntary directed all clubs to remove all Simply Right baby wipes from our shelves and placed an electronic block at our registers so the item can’t be purchased,” said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president, health and wellness, Sam's Club. “We take these matters seriously and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our members. We are communicating directly with members who purchased the product for whom we have member-provided contact information.”
Sam’s Club began alerting consumer in mid October of the recall, which affects Simply Right baby wipes offered for sale at Sam’s Club starting June 30.
