Nonwovens demand will outpace market growth

Sales of nonwovens for automotives reached 260 million square meters in China in 2013, representing year-on-year growth of 13% between 2012 and 2013. Meanwhile demand volume was about 600 million square meters throughout 2013. Market demand for seat fabrics was 170 million suare meters while the demand for nonwoven acoustical felts was 80 million square meters, interior carpets  36 million square meters and trunk liners 29 million square meters. Demand for headliner material exceeded 42 million square meters.

According to Reserach and Forecast of the China Auotmotive Nonwoven market, 2014-2018, a report published by, growth of domestic made automobiles will hover around 12% annually as more attention is paid to environmental protection, growth of nonwovens will outpace growth, increasing about 15% per year.
