Effective January 1, 2014, the two RKW locations Michelstadt and Philippsthal were incorporated into the new company, RKW Agri GmbH & Co. KG. This spin-off will form the basis for new strategic alliances in the agricultural films and nets sector.
As one of the leading manufacturer of plastic films and nonwovens, RKW produces films and nets for the agricultural, landscaping, water and civil engineering sectors at the locations RKW Michelstadt and RKW Philippsthal. These were incorporated into the new company, RKW Agri GmbH & Co. KG, with effect of January 1, 2014.
“By being legally independent, this global business area achieves the necessary prominence and significantly more commercial freedom to continue to grow successfully in the future," says Roland Roth, CEO of the RKW Group. "Moreover, this step will create more opportunities for strategic alliances and takeovers."
RKW Agri says it now intends to acquire the Belgian film manufacturer Hyplast NV. At present the Anti-Trust Commission is examining this acquisition.
RKW Agri a technological and innovative leader in the area of agricultural films and nets. The latest example is the Polydress round bale film without adhesive additives. RKW also won a number of awards for the film innovation Polydress O2 Barrier 2IN1 including a silver medal from the DLG (German Agricultural Association).
