Omnova Solutions increases prices for emulsion polymers

Omnova Solutions Inc. has increased its prices to 8 cents per wet pound for all acrylic, styrene acrylic and vinyl acrylic emulsion polymers.

The firm also said vinyl acetate emulsion polymers will increase up to 4 cents per wet pound and its Plioway and Pliolite resins will increase up to 12 cents per dry pound.

All increases will take effect Feb. 7 for all specialty markets in the U.S., including coatings, tape and adhesives, floor care, graphic arts, nonwovens, textiles, construction, tire cord and oilfield chemicals.

The firm cited raw material price increases as the reason for the change.
