Lin Römer was appointed as additional managing director of AMSilk effective August 1, 2013. Römer is co-founder and shareholder of AMSilk. Previously, he had already been involved in developing the technology together with Prof. Thomas Scheibel.
Römer will continue to head the scientific and technical development of the AMSilk Technology and will direct the business of AMSilk together with Axel Leimer.
Römer has been leading the application and market-driven development of spider silk into products at the Technische Universität München and the University of Bayreuth. As project manager and staff scientist at the university, he has been the key to transferring academic achievements into marketable products. Römer received his diploma of chemistry with focus on biochemistry from the University of Marburg and his PhD from the Technische Universität München. In 2008 he joined AMSilk as head of research and development.
