Tapyrus, a Japanese meltblown maker, established a Thailand subsidiary near Bangkok late last year. The new company will start commercial production in spring of next year when it will help meet the needs of a customer who has expanded into southeast Asia.
Additionally, the $2.5 million investment will help strengthen its supply system both in Japan and Southeast Asia.
Tapyrus has been making meltblown nonwovens for nearly 40 years using a range of mateirals including polypropylene, nylon, PBT, PEEK and PLA. Application areas include filters, face masks, battery separators, coalescers and water purifiers.
