    Fibervisions changes ownership

    Indorama to buy fiber maker.

    01.05.12

Thailand-based Indorama Ventures will acquire fiber manufacturer FiberVisions.

"The acquisition of FiberVisions significantly enhances Indorama Ventures' position in the world's most specialized fibres business for hygiene products and other growing fibre applications. As the largest producer of polypropylene fibre, FiberVisions complements our strength as the world's largest polyester producer and together we will better cover customer needs in all parts of the world," says Indorama Ventures CEO Aloke Lohia.

FiberVisions CEO Stephen Wood said the move will give the company an even stronger capability to develop fiber innovations to help its customers successfully meet the ever changing and increasing market demands.

Fibervisions makes polyolefin and bicomponent fibers for a number of nonwovens processes. Based in Denmark, the company has a U.S. operation in Covington, GA.
