Salteks & Salvin is investing in a new facility for cotton fiber preparationand processing for its spunlace hygienic and medical nonwovens in Corlu,
Turkey. The company uses a technology for processing cotton fiber forspunlace production to provide benefits of lower raw material costs,
improved fiber properties and more environmentally friendly processing.
Thelines will be built in the Salvin plant in Corlu with a total area of 50,000square meters, adding 300 tons per month in capacity. The first stage of installingthe cotton fiber preparation system and processing the fiber with thecompany's existing spunlace line is scheduled for May. The second stage,processing the cotton fiber with a new spunlace line is slated to begin inthe first quarter of 2012.
