At INDEX Chinese nonwovens producer Nanliu Enterprise Co. Ltd. unveiled Silk Soft Natural, a bio-degradable low-lint spunlace entirely made of PLA and wood pulp materials, which decompose naturally.
Paul Cheng, general manager said, “Silk Soft Natural is based on corn and wood pulp. It is ideal for surgical gowns and drapes and industrial low-lint wipes. Our repellent fabrics are for gowns and drapes and absorbent is for industrial wipes.”
To prove this product’s ability to biodegrade, at INDEX the company had photos of the material three and six months after disposal. By six months, the material was nearly completely biodegraded.
