Ahlstrom Beefs Up Wipes Offerings With SPC Soft

April 13, 2011

Three-layer construction offers many benefits.

Ahlstrom has unveiled new SPC technology to improve softness as well as visual aspects of the nonwovens substrate thanks to a special three layer construction with pulp in the middle. These materials are suitable for baby and personal care appliations thanks to improved tensile strength and absorption capacity. The three-layer construction also gives SPC Soft, as it is being marketed, an excellent lotion load and allows sinking to be prevented in packaging.

This year Ahlstrom will expand its nonwoven wiping fabrics manufactured in Europe with the aim of increasing capacity, efficiency and breadth of product range.Following the expansion, Ahlstrom will operate two spunlace lines in Mozzate and an SPC line in Cressa.
