Americhem recently announced that its nDuramax masterbatches for PET packaging meet critical recyclability standards and provide superior UV absorption for extended shelf life.
Containers made with nDuramax are fully recyclable and ready to be incorporated into post-consumer recyling streams, said Chris Miller, technology manager for Americhem. nDuramax stabilizers also contribute to the products sustainability by protecting the packaging and its contents from the degrading effects of UV light.
Products made with Americhems nDuramax were tested for APR (Association of Postconsumer Plastics Recyclers) compliance up to 390nm, which exceeds other commercially available UV products. By protecting clear plastic products from UV light, packaging producers can help protect brand identity by preventing discoloration and changes in taste and smell, as well as protect product performance and nutritional value.
