Paper Converting Machine Co.s new Athena product line is aimed at the dry nonwoven wipes and tissue napkin market sector.
The Athena is a small footprint versatile folder for the production of a variety of nonwoven and tissue folded products (18 to 250 gsm) ranging from nonwoven wipes for personal care and household cleaning, to nonwoven and polyethylene waterproof folded towels for medical use and tissue table napkins in up to three plies. A complete range of folds is available, as is the capability to print, emboss and impregnate to produce an end product to meet the most demanding of needs, all at high efficiencies.
The Athena is available in both two and four lane models with automatic delivery, and the widest range of product size formats (from 200 to 620 mm open), types of fold available (V - M - N C) and substrate capability.
The complete line configuration features unwinder (one or two reels), printing unit (one or two color ci), drying tunnel, embosser (r/s, s/s or heated), laminator (for tissue), impregnator, folding head, edge cutting unit and automatic transfer. The Athena line can feature three types of embossing, thus offering the best option for each type of product: thermo (heated) for nonwovens and paper to steel or steel to steel for tissue products.
The machine speeds are 400 mpm for nonwoven and 600 mpm for tissue.
