SCA is purchasing the Copamex baby diaper business in Mexico and Central America for a reported $50 million.

A maker of well-known brands including Dry Kids for the Mexico and Tessy Babies in South America, Copamex's sales were $60 million last year. It holds a number three position in the Mexican baby diaper market.

"The acquisition will strengthen SCA's presence in Latin America and create a base for expansion in its baby diaper business in Mexico and Central America,"said CEO and president Jan Johansson.

The transaction will be complete during the third quarter.
