Japan's Nippon Shokubai will upgrad its U.S. superabsorbent polymer offerings with a new factory in Texas. The 60,000-ton, two-line operation will replace the company's Tennessee operation, which will be closed after completion of the new site. According to reports, the existing capacity is obsolete and the new operation will improve the quality of the SAPas well as the company's productivity.
Construction is expected to begin on the new factory this month and wil be complete in mid-2012.
